Season 2017/18 - October 14th & 15th

Lets look back at the NIHL South Divisions for the latest weekend, starting in Division One (Britton):-
Saturday 14th October

Peterborough Phantoms took top spot and made it seven wins from seven after wins over Invicta Dynamos and Streatham to go three points clear of Swindon Wildcats.  The Wildcats were in Autumn Cup action with a weekend double against Telford Tigers, and the South Division side recorded two wins to take charge of Group 2.  Basingstoke Bison recorded two wins this weekend, defeating Streatham in the league before recording a penalty shootout win over Bracknell Bees in the National Cup.  Invicta Dynamos bounced back from defeat at Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday night to record an overtime success at Milton Keynes Thunder for only their third win in eight, whilst London Raiders got their second win in four after mauling a sorry looking Cardiff Fire for whom it was their ninth straight loss.

Well what a game we have on Saturday evening in Peterborough as their Phantoms host second placed Swindon Widcats.  Should be tasty that one!!!

Peterborough and Bracknell's second strings are emulating their first teams successes right now, Phantoms 2 top the division with five wins from five after they demolished a poor Slough Jets outfit on Sunday, whilst the Hornets stung another struggling outfit in Swindon Wildcats 2 on Saturday evening to also go five from five on the season.  Haringey Huskies poor form continued with defeat at Guildford, whilst Solent Devils are up to fifth after victory over Slough Jets making it three wins from four.  And Oxford City Stars inflicted another heavy away loss on the Invicta Mustangs to go third in the division, two points behind the leaders having won four of five outings so far.
